Outcomes:
This program makes for an excellent after-school activity. Halloween-themed snacks are provided for the kids to enjoy. When they are ready, they can start painting their pumpkins. Usually, no instruction is necessary. It is simply a space where they can be creative. A fun addition if they finish early is some Halloween trivia.
When I did this program, I was substituting for the teen librarian. I think tweens and teens can enjoy pumpkin painting. We did have a teen create something that could be considered controversal. It is okay to set some ground rules before painting.
